Description

This is a very distinctive Art Deco Sterling Silver Caddy Spoon. The spoon has a vertically ribbed stem with a nail top and a broad bowl. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.

The caddy spoon is made in Sheffield by renowned silversmiths Cooper Brothers & Sons and dates to 1930, when Art Deco was becoming the dominant style.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and just the minimal superficial surface wear that would expect after 90 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The spoon is 9.1cm / 3.6ins long and weighs a very respectable 12.5g / 0.44oz of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, on the underside of the bowl, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter n for 1930 and the C.B & S makers' mark for Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd.
