Description

This is a stunning Mid-Century Silver Serving Spoon in the "Tele" pattern and is in 830/1000 grade silver. The spoon is made by Brodrene Mylius (Mylius Brothers) in Kragero, Norway and dates to between the 1950s and the 1970s. Brodrene Mylius began their partnership in 1932 and specialised in flatware and tableware.

The "Tele" pattern is a very popular Norwegian pattern and smaller pieces are quite commonly found but it is rare to find the large serving pieces such as this one. It is perfectly usable today and would be a great addition for someone looking to add to a service in the "Tele" pattern.

Condition is extremely good with no dings or dents and only the superficial surface wear that is to be expected after several years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The spoon is 23.7cm / 9.3" long and weighs a substantial 79.3g / 2.8oz of solid silver.

The marks on the underside of the stem are well struck and clear to read. They show the 830S mark for 830 / 1000 grade silver, the old Norwegian standard, the NM mark which stands for Norsk Monster, a Norwegian copyright mark and the seagull on a rock makers' mark for Brodrene Mylius.
