Description

Here we have a beautiful Art Deco Decorated Stoneware Vase. The cylindrical vase has a mottled blue glazed ground with four roundels featuring bluebirds around the upper part of the body, two featuring one bird and two featuring two birds.

The vase was made at Royal Doulton's famous Lambeth factory in London and dates to around the 1920s. It was decorated by Christine Abbot, one of the many talented female artists employed at the factory, who worked there from the 1890s through to the late 1920s.

Condition is very good, with no chips or cracks and just one pinprick firing flaw between two of the roundels. It is watertight and will look amazing with a small bouquet of flowers or just as a decorative item in its own right. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The vase stands 14.5cm / 5.7ins high and is 5.7cm / 2.2ins in diameter. It weighs 309.8g / 10.9oz.

The underside of the base has the Royal Doulton England mark in use from around 1922 and the inscribed C A mark for Christine Abbot.
