Description

Here we have a superb Arts & Crafts Silver Plate Punch Bowl accompanied by a Silver Plate King's Pattern Ladle. The punch bowl is very striking with a planished or hammered finish all over the body and pedestal foot. The bowl has lion mask handles on each side and between these are George III copper pennies which have been plated over. The ladle has an arching stem, double struck in King's Pattern, with a fluted oval bowl that has a pouring lip on each side.

The punch bowl is silver plate on copper and dates to the Arts & Crafts era of the late 19th and early 20th century. The ladle is EPNS, made in Sheffield and dates to the early 20th century. There is no makers' mark on either piece.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents to either piece. There is no significant plate loss with just a few coppery glints peeking through on the high points of the lion mask handles and on the George III pennies. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The punch bowl is 25cm / 9.8ins in diameter and stands 19.5cm / 7.7ins high. The ladle is 29.5cm / 11.6ins long. All together the set weighs in at 1.51kg / 53.37oz.
