George V Silver Plate Teapot, Walker & Hall, 1924

Description
This is a handsome George V Silver Plate Teapot. The teapot is upright with a circular base and a scroll handle, with piercings where it meets the body of the pot to keep the handle cool for pouring. The hinged lid is domed with a spherical finial. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind. The teapot was made in Sheffield by the famous firm Walker & Hall and dates to 1924. Walker & Hall are one of the great names of English silverware. The firm was founded by George Walker in 1845 with Henry Hall joining in 1853 to form Walker & Hall. Hugely successful and very highly regarded they remained in business until they were merged with Mappin & Webb and Elkington & Co to form British Silverware in 1963.
Condition is very good, with just a couple of truly tiny dings, no significant plate loss and only the superficial surface wear that you would anticipate after 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The teapot has a 1.5 pint / 0.85l capacity. It measures 20.7cm / 8.1ins from spout to handle, 11.9cm / 4.7ins across the body and stands 13.1cm / 5.1ins high. It weighs 587g / 20.7oz.
The underside of the pot is stamped A1 for the best quality silver plate. It has the date letter f for 1924 along with Walker & Hall, Sheffield and the famous W & H pennant trademark.
