Description

Here we have a fine quality late Victorian / Edwardian Cigar and Cigarette Box with Silver Plate mounts in the Arts & Crafts style. The box is oak with cedar wood lining to keep the cigars and cigarettes fresh. The mounts on the lid and the corners are silver plated brass. The cigarette side of the box has a holder for matches and there is a strike patch on the top. The central ashtray, set into the lid, is removable for easy cleaning.

There is no makers' mark on the box so we are unable to say who it was manufactured by but it is almost certainly British and dates to around 1880 to 1910.

Condition is very good, with no damage to the wooden box and just a small amount of wear to the silver plate, most particularly on the top right hand corner. The hinges are in good condition and the box shuts securely. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The box is 30.5cm / 12ins wide, 16cm / 6.3ins deep and 13cm / 5.1ins high. It weighs in at 1.09kg / 38.6oz.

Shipping in the UK is £17.00 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the box and allows for the weight.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
