Description

This is a beautiful Vintage Danish Silver Gilt and Enamel Coffee Spoon. The spoon is made in silver gilt with the turquoise enamel featuring in a diagonal striped pattern doen the front of the stem and a shell pattern in the bowl.

The coffee spoon was made in Copenhagen by silversmith Egon Lauridsen and dates to around the late 1940s or 1950s. Egon Lauridsen was a Danish silversmith who specialised in enamel on silver. He was based in Copenhagen and was active between 1936 and 1966. He is best known for his colourful enamelled silver spoons but also produced some beautiful jewellery.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no damage to the enamel and just a little thinning of the gilding on the back of the bowl and the underside of the stem. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The coffee spoon is 9.3cm / 3.6ins long and weighs in at 8.6g / 0.3oz.

The underside of the stem is stamped STERLING and 925S to show that it is 925/1000 grade Sterling Silver. Next to this is the ELa stamp for maker Egon Lauridsen and DENMARK to show the country of origin.
