The mustard spoon was made in Sheffield by renowned silversmiths Cooper Brothers & Sons and dates to 1965. The firm was established in 1866 by brothers Thomas & John Cooper, becoming Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd in 1895. They produced a wide range of silverware and silver plate but are best known for their high quality cutlery and flatware in many different patterns. The business was finally bought out in 1983.

The mustard spoon is 7.3cm / 2.9ins long and weighs in at 4.2g / 0.15oz of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, on the underside of the stem, are well struck and clear to read. The show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter X for 1965 and the C B & S in a shield makers' mark for Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd.
