Description

This is an attractive Mid-Century Silver Plate Basket with a Swing Handle. Both the basket and handle have an intricate pierced design and it sits on three bun feet.

The basket was made in England as part of the Lancelot Plate range and dates to around the 1950s/60s. We haven't been able to find much information about Lancelot Plate but the brand is primarily seen on tableware, often of pierced designs and dating to the mid-century period.

Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents, no damage to the pierced sections and no significant plate loss, just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The basket is 18.3cm / 7.2ins in diameter and stands 11.2cm / 4.4ins high with the handle in the upright position. It weighs in at 212g / 7.5oz.

The underside of the rim is stamped EPNS for silver plate, Lancelot Plate and Made in England.
