Description

This is a good quality Mid-Century Sterling Silver Mustard Spoon in the classic Old English pattern from just after the Second World War. The Mustard Spoon was made in Birmingham by Bishton's Ltd and dates to 1947. Bishton's started up in business in 1945 and carried on making good quality silver tableware and flatware into the late 1980s.

This mustard spoon is in very good condition with no dings or dents and only superficial wear from over 70 years of use. It is entirely suitable for use on the table today with mustard, salt or any number of condiments.

The spoon is 6.5cm long and weighs 3.5g.
The hallmarks on the underside of the stem are well struck and clear to read. They are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter "X" for 1947 and the B.Ld makers mark for Bishton's Ltd.
