Description

This is a fine quality late 19th Century Silver Plated Bottle Coaster. The coaster is round with a broad moulded rim featuring an intricate scrollwork design. The base of the coaster is wooden, probably mahogany, and the underside has a green baize cover.

There is no makers' mark that we have been able to find but it is stamped EP and has a product number of 4045. It dates to the latter part of the 19th century c.1870-1900.

Condition is generally very good with just a few dings to the underside of the base. There is very little plate loss apart from a patch on the central button of the base where the underlying copper is showing through. This sits directly beneath the bottle when in use. The bottle coaster is 16.6cm / 6.5ins in diameter across the top rim and stands 4.8cm / 1.9ins high. It weighs 422.2g / 14.9oz.
