Burnell and Rowe

Description

This charming little dog is hand carved out of a single piece of wood, most probably pine. The eyes, nose and mouth have then been painted to give our friend a very lovable face. It's either a Scottie or a Westie.

Origin is most likely central Europe, either Switzerland or Germany being the probable candidates and it dates to the late 1920s or 1930s. The wood has darkened naturally over the years and has a lovely patina.

Being hand carved it's a unique piece and has oodles of charm. It would be a great gift for anyone who owns or has a love of Scotties and Westies. The dog would look great sitting on a desk or mantlepiece or be a nice addition to a display cabinet for a collector.

It's 7cm tall to the top of the ears and 10.5cm from nose to tail. There is no damage whatsoever. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
