Description

This is a late Georgian handblown ring neck clear glass decanter from the early 19th century.

The decanter has thumb decoration around the shoulders, deep grooves in the main body and two rings around the neck. It has a classic "mushroom" stopper.

The decanter and stopper are both in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Being a handblown piece there are a few bubbles in the glass and one very small white speck which has become trapped in the glass during its making. The decoration is very well done but with the slight variations you will always find in a handmade piece. The pontil mark on the base has been neatly ground away. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The decanter with stopper is 24cm high and the diameter is 8.3cm at it's widest point. It weighs just under 900g.
