Buchanan and Laing (Prima Finds)

Description

An unusual Edwardian brass and mahogany plate/ cake stand.

The three round tiers are formed as mahogany rings with a vacant centre designed to accommodate plates and/or each smoothed ring is attached to the three shaped legs by brass dome head slotted screws . the legs are terminated by a 'ribbon' formed handle and carrying frame. The terminal point has a good detail in the design, reflecting the art nouveau/arts and crafts trends of the era.

The brass handle is unusual and worth note.

A very decorative piece that would complement any room setting.

Condition: Excellent antique condition, ready to use, there is a small, old repair to one leg joint however, it is solid and minor as well as not affecting the structural integrity of this fabulous piece.
