Buchanan and Laing (Prima Finds)

Description

A high quality lead crystal double lip cocktail shaker we believe dates to about 1950, although there is a possibility it may be earlier. There are plentiful supplies of metal top ( silver, silver plate base metal etc.) shakers, the complete crystal versions tend to be a lot thinner on the ground. This is in as new condition, there are no issues with damage or over use etc. The cut is immense, it has deep cuts to the main arches, fine diamond panels between, lovely uniform leaf fans and bold diamond lozenges to the main body. The base is also beautifully cut, we particularly like the thumb cut panels around the neck , a nice sensible addition to the design , allowing for grip. The stopper is hollow blown but closed end (often these are hollow and open ended). As illustrated in the images the dome top is also cut.
