17th Century Spanish Brass /Bronze Candlestick" Dating from the early 17th Century, Pits design incorporates a square base elevated by lions paw feet at each corner.The well defined ballester shaft which is being sold as exceptional condition, ready to polish or leave with its existing historic patination.An almost identical candlestick is pictured in The Brass Book, Schiffer, p. 168, Fig. C, with the comment,

"The feet are the most sophisticated and detailed of any of the footed candlesticks shown".
