17th Century 'Capstan' Brass Candle stick with banded socle, turned bulbous stem and capstan foot. Wonderful form and patination with complete base. Some describe this form as 'Norther European' while John Caspal attributes this form to Spain and the last half of the 17th century in Making Fire and Light in the Home, pre-1820.DateEarly 17th Century :
