Description

A George II Mahogany ‘piecrust’ tilt-top tea table. The circular-sculpted dish top, supported by a revolving mahogany birdcage rest on a simple Cuban mahogany turned column with padded cabriole feet. The sculpted edge of the table-top echoes the classic characteristics of the late Georgian period, which can be seen in silver salvers produced for the upper classes of the time.When the top is tipped, the table can be set aside to display the character of the wood and the sculptural qualities of the top.
