A Victorian fruitwood and elm Windsor Armchair in the gothic style. With sculpted elm dished ‘saddle’ elm, crinoline stretcher. A quintessentially English design, this example is one of the most sophisticated interpretations of the Windsor form. Although Windsor chairs are often considered a cornerstone of the country design aesthetic, this form and example imbue a high level of visual appeal. With pierced knee brackets, sculpted elm seat and a carved fretwork back, this chair has a high degree of sophistication.
