Mid 19th Century paint decorated finger lapped oval pantry box. This charming gut stitched finger lapped box, retains an original early coat of olive green paint, which has been further enhanced with a naive red stylised star motif on its lid. The interior and underside remains unpainted, but reveals a history of patinated oxidisation and patination which can only be acquired with time.DateMid 19th Century
