Description
A late 17th to early antique leather costrel of typical form with sloping shoulders which have been pierced to accommodate a leather thong or strap. The edges stitched seams, with owners initials 'SB' to one end, house or ownership mark ('crowned' cross) struck twice to the underside, associated wooden stopper of a later date.DateEarly 18th Century :
