Description

Our last large piece from South Wales which once belonged in a haberdashery shop. This is a rather good 8 drawer chest of drawers surviving from the around the 1920s, English and probably bespoke made – a little pencil signature, probably the maker, can be found to the inside of the frame, a nice touch.

We like this one – It’s not too large, the quality and craft is good and it’s in fine condition with sensible day to day wear rather than a sad looking barn find we sometimes get offered. We have 2 runs of 4 deep drawers all sitting on handsome looking feet, topped with a decent oak top and those great looking panelled sides. As mentioned it’s not too big and narrower than most – fine for a hallway, kitchen, bedroom or commercial space…

Workshop report – the piece has been carefully re-polished and waxed to enhance the grain and tone of the oak. The drawers are clean and runners have been waxed so they are running and closing as they should. We have no cracks or splits to the side panels, just a little split to the top but historic and fine. The brass handles – a historic replacement are lightly tarnished and would polish up more if you wish. The whole piece sits firm with no wobbles and smells fine. Worth noting it’s a heavy piece for its size.

When purchasing from us we include delivery within mainland UK, excluding Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isles, in the purchase price and liaise with you to ensure delivery is as swift and as smooth as possible. We try our best to deliver within 14 working days. Please call or email for quotes to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isles and for World-wide shipping.

Items are delivered by private courier, usually this is a one man service. If you require a two person delivery, please let us know. Smaller items are wrapped and packed (into recycled boxes where possible) and sent via a national courier service, tracking details will be provided once an item has been collected from us.

Terms and conditions
If you are not happy with an item you have 14 days to return it. This is providing that the item is returned, in the condition it left us, within 14 days. Please note that items must be wrapped and insured, with the return cost being covered by you. Once the item is back with us, having had a once over in the workshop, your refund will be issued.

On the rare occasion that an item is damaged in transit, please notify us immediately or within 48 hours and provide us with details and images so we can best remedy the situation.
