Description

Great looking vintage chest of 6 drawers in the favoured mid oak with the ivorine retailer’s label still in situ “D Matthews & Sons Ltd, Liverpool” a nice touch. It comes with panelled sides and is furnished with original brass cup handles and brass label holders to the drawer fronts.
This one sits well and would have started life in an office sometimes referred to as plan chests - this one is smaller than most and of sensible proportions.
Workshop report - The chest sits in good condition, no wobbles or sways. As mentioned the original cup handles are in place and would polish up easily, if you prefer that look. We have cleaned and ensured the drawers are running well. The oversailing top does have day to day marks but nothing nasty. We do have a historic repair to the corner of drawer number 6, the bottom one - it's fine, well executed and does not stop its purpose. Two of the drawer bases have at one point been replaced - not a concern, otherwise expect day to day wear. We have lightly waxed it to ensure it's ready to place. The chest does split into 2 for easier placing.
A great and attractive piece of 1930s British oak office furniture.

When purchasing from us we include delivery within mainland UK, excluding Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isles, in the purchase price and liaise with you to ensure delivery is as swift and as smooth as possible. We try our best to deliver within 14 working days. Please call or email for quotes to Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isles and for World-wide shipping.

Items are delivered by private courier, usually this is a one man service. If you require a two person delivery, please let us know. Smaller items are wrapped and packed (into recycled boxes where possible) and sent via a national courier service, tracking details will be provided once an item has been collected from us.

Terms and conditions
If you are not happy with an item you have 14 days to return it. This is providing that the item is returned, in the condition it left us, within 14 days. Please note that items must be wrapped and insured, with the return cost being covered by you. Once the item is back with us, having had a once over in the workshop, your refund will be issued.

On the rare occasion that an item is damaged in transit, please notify us immediately or within 48 hours and provide us with details and images so we can best remedy the situation.
