Description

From the hall of a Lancashire school, this one survives in fine order from the 1920s and is a classic half glazed cabinet with rather handy and good looking rolling bottom doors. The cabinet would have held trophies and the like in the top half and probably books or similar in the lower half.
It’s a handsome piece of vintage school furniture with a deep bottom plinth of oak sitting below those attractive rolling oak panelled doors. Above this sits a pair of glazed doors with 3 adjustable shelves inside. The attractive top plinth finishes off the piece well.
Workshop report – The oak is a pleasing tone which we repolished to bring out the attractive grain. The rolling doors are rolling well with the lovely tarnished cup handles in situ which hide 2 fixed shelves. The glazed doors have a working lock with the original glass crack and break free. The 3 shelves to the top half are adjustable – classic old school. The piece splits into 2 for delivery and is clean and tidy. Please expect day to day marks but nothing nasty.
A fine piece of early 20th Century School Furniture with endless possibilities for placing ready for loading up.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 228.5cm with the Lower Section 107cm x Width 139cm with the Upper Section 135cm x Depth 41.5cm
