This handsome bust has beautifully carved detail. Plato's face and neck are made of Carrara marble and the tunic around his shoulders marron imperial marble, with highly effective veining. It stands on a tapering round marble base.Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher of the Classical period who is considered a foundational thinker in Western philosophy and an innovator of the written dialogue and dialectic forms.
