Description

Oil on canvas, excellent condition with no obvious flaws.
In a fine giltwood period frame, signed lower left, dated 1883.
Size 43 by 33 cms, overall, including the frame 58 by 72 cms.

William Arthur Breakspeare was an artist from Birmingham, England, the son of John Breakspeare, a flower painter working in the Birmingham japanning trade. He exhibited widely between in England including at the RA. He was a member of the Newlyn School and a founder member of the Birmingham Art Circle.
