Fine example of a Chippendale period mahogany architect’s table ( or architect's desk ) with hinged, easel top and sprung book ledge, pull out candle slides to each side, pull out front with working lock and key opening to retractable leather writing surface with compartments and small drawers below and swing out quadrant ink drawer to the side, raised on split section legs.
marks ,scuffs and general wear and tear commensurate with its considerable age, but overall this fabulous quality desk is in original, untouched condition and really is an absolutely outstanding, genuine piece of antique furniture which is still fully functional today, a testament to its quality and maker.
