Description
A carving in wood by Faust Emanuel Lang (German 1887-1973).The carving is entitled "Inspiration" it is of St Michael reaching upwards holding a torchere. One leg is raised the other is entwined by two serpents entitled "Sin" and "Death" raised on a dome and circular plinth incised with the title and a signature. Three fingers are partly missing from his left hand and there is a drying crack in the back of the plinth. More detailed photos are available.
