Description

A handsome little desk-top letter rack or holder dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890. The plated brass base stands on four ball feet and measures around 4 by 5 1/2 inches. The side frames are supported by small spherical ended pillars and feature hand coloured equestrian scenes behind glass.
Standing about 5 inches to the top of the handle this piece is in good original condition with what we consider to be just the right degree of patina with its original plating exposing the underlying brass in places. It could of course be carefully cleaned or - horror of horrors - stripped of its original plating and the brass polished. Grrrrrr!
