Description

Victorian brass wall gas light. Removed from large North Devon mansion at the time it was modernised - many years ago - and stored since. Gas lights such as these are eminently suitable for conversion to electricity due to their hollow construction which allows for wiring to be introduced without extraneous holes being drilled etc. We have left this with existing patina to allow the purchaser to chose whether it is displayed thus or cleaned and polished. We prefer the former but many won't. A fully authentic lamp complete with its ornate gas taps still in place and operational.
Spread 9 1/2 inches - height 9 inches - diameter of mounting roundel 4 inches.
