A Small 17th Century Oak Six Plank Chest.

A good example with a good colour and patina of board and nail construction ,the sides with an unusual double point cut out and it is still retaining its original height ,lockplate and hasp the hinges are its second set it is still retaining the originals these were changed a long time ago at least 150yrs.

The lid with a chip carved edge and 1" punch and scratch work strip to each end which follow down each end of the front.

In good solid condition with a small loss to the back right hand corner of the lid ,the interior with its original candle box but where the oak boards have moved over time its lid is stuck with slight movement .

A lovely small chest with a large presence.
