Description

Late 18th Century Primitive Work Bench.

This table of good size known as a shave horse because a man would sit on it and shave greenwood clamping the wood with wedges placed in the holes to tighten.

Because of this it stands taller than pig benches making it perfect as a sofa table or a substanial hall table.

Plank chestnut two plank top with four pine square legs.

Good colour with an iron bolt through each end of the top to secure the two planks and the clamp holes giving it an industrial country look.
