A good mid 16th century set of english carved oak romayne panels

Set into a later period oak door frame,possibly 18th century,this has been done very well and the colour match and grain of the timber is near identicle,also a nice lock plate and corner brackets again period with traces of paint and good pitting.

It is exciting for me to find a set of six panels from the same series,they have everything one would want from a profile panel ,good definition and the classic beasts and dolphins,two also have small angels heads at the top of each panel .

Good dark colour with a red tinge to the oak.
