A wonderful elizabethan english oak linenfold chest

Circa 1570

Of joined construction,The three plank top over three panel front, carved with english linenfold design,plain panel sides and boarded back.

Good light colour and small size.

This chest has had sympathetic restoration to include ,a period replacement of the back board of the lid,later lock plate,one base board replaced and both rear leg stiles are later replacements.

This has been done to a high standard and completed a long time ago.

Although restored this is still a rare survivor of an english tudor chest.
