A generously sized 19th century elm primitive chair.

Circa 1800

The oversized crest rail over large arms constructed from two seperate pieces over eight rounded sticks shaped with a drawknife on a huge single seat of elm and standing on four short legs with chamfered edges.

A hearth chair due to its shortness in height ,of the same design as the earlier hedgerow chairs of cardiganshire

This chair is in good solid condition of generous proportions and of a very good weight.
