Description

An unusual vintage tray in hardwood carved with Chinese dragons and symbols dating from circa 1920s. The raised gallery carved to look like bamboo with carry handles either side, the top carved with dragons, maze paterns and symbols. A very decorative item in good condition with good colour and patina. Trays like this were sometimes given as gifts to soldiers, carved by fellow regiments in honour of fighting side by side, the dragons symbolising strength and the maze symbolic of life.
