Description

A wonderful antique Victorian walnut pier cabinet / bookcase with lockable single glazed door in the French taste dating from circa 1870. Walnut veneered with ebonised rolled top above painted porcelain plaque with ormolu surround and fittings. The single glazed door locks and opens to reveal a pink lined interior and two shelves. It stands on a plinth base and ebonised bobbin turned feet. Would work well as a display cabinet or as a bookcase.

Original condition with wear and marks commensurate with age. Small veneer loss to bottom of door and sides. Porcelain plaque has split across front.
