Description

A good quality and good sized antique Regency gilt overmantel mirror, dating from circa 1830. The frame with the broken pediment top and columns decorated with bold, clasped lotus leaves. Good warm patination to gilding over the years with nice age and wear in places. The later glass plate set within a reeded ebony slip. Wonderful overall look to the original water-gilding. The mirror plate is a modern replacement.

Condition Report:
Wear and marks commensurate with age. Frame which retains its original water gilding has beautiful age and wear with the clay/gesso showing through and missing in places. Later modern mirror plate.
