Description

A handsome antique Victorian Anglo-Chinese bamboo four-fold dressing screen or room divider dating from circa 1900. Standing 4ft8″ tall the four folding panels fold away completely, so when not required it can be neatly tucked away. The front and back are both upholstered and surrounded by a bamboo frame which folds on good quality brass hinges. It has ebonised and faded gilt detailing to the frame, the edges topped with turned finials (one replacement).

The bamboo frame is in reasonably good order (a few splits to the bamboo commensurate with age) The upholstery is later – it has quite a few marks on it towards the bottom of the side with the Chinese writing on it. One replacement finial (doesn’t match).
