The Boer War 1900. (Winston S. Churchill. "How I Escaped from Pretoria". (Morning Post article) + Boer War newscuts & Royal Military College documents for Richard Holbeche of Sutton Coldfield 1870.

Old "News Cuts" cloth album with about 60-70 various news-cuttings regarding events in South Africa, especially the Mafeking Siege and subsequent battles around there "Spion Kop", etc. There is also dated January 24th a long detailed broadsheet newspaper account of the "How I Escaped From Pretoria and My Subsequent Adventures on the Road to Delagoa Bay". Most items here loosely inserted as is this, so could frame separately?. There is a complete "Daily Graphic" newspaper on the Death of Victoria in 1901. There are 3 printed official "Royal Military College" certificates for Richard Holbeche, dated 1869-70 for "Garrison Instruction + School of Musketry and explosives certificate at Hythe + Cadet Qualification Certificate December 1869 signed by "George" (this looks Royal, but which Royal?) and other senior Military personnel inc one Lt General and others + 2 letters from the Army and Navy Club in Pall Mall re the death with condolences on 1900 of Lt-Col Richard Holbeche of the Royal Munster Fusiliers with his certificate confirming his appointment to " Librarian" at The Hospital of St John of Jerusalem in London and signed by Alfred Jephson the ex-Naval officer and then secretary-General of this society (not mentioned in his biography online). A quantity of Boer War and Ladysmith ephemera. From an archive of material related to the Holbeche's of Sutton Coldfield.
