Winsor and Newton artists box
Winsor And Newton Mahogany Artists Box, c1870. The box has a large maker's label in the lid and at the bottom of the paint brush tray. Made of mahogany, lift out tray for twelve watercolour paint pans, four further compartments, ceramic water pot, brush trays, slim drawer below with ceramic mixing tray, original labels and brass hinges. The label reads "Windsor & Newton manufacturers, by appointment to Her Majesty and to His Royal Highness Prince Albert, 38 Rathbone Place London".
