Winsor & Newton Artists Paint Box
A good and collectable English watercolour paint box by the renowned makers Winsor & Newton and dating from circa 1890. The beautiful mahogany box has an inlaid brass cartouche to the lid, a brass escutcheon to the front above the drawer with sunken brass handle. The lid opens to reveal a blue and gilded makers label which states "Winsor & Newton, Manufacturers, By Appointment To Her Majesty, And T.R.H. The Prince And Princess of Wales, 38 Rathbone Place, London". The box is fitted with various paints and a glass water dish. The drawer is opened by removing a steel pin and offers storage for more paints or other paraphernalia. Dimensions:- Height…3.5’’/ 9cm. Width…9.5’’/ 24cm. Depth…8.75’’/ 22cm. Free U.K. delivery.
