William & Mary Leicestershire Indenture of 1700
Whitwick & Bardon, Leicestershire Indenture in the Reign of William & Mary. Handwritten in English onto Vellum dated 5th July 1700 between William Osborne of Donnington-on-the-Heath, Leicestershire, Baker and his wife Dorothy, leased for 1 year to Thomas Newberry of Thornton, Leicestershire, Yeoman and John Price of Barden Park, Husbandman (Farmer), a Cottage in which James How lives, standing in a close of land called Corkhay, being in the Lordship of Whitwick and near Bardon Park and also a close of land adjoining called Hoggs Hay paying a peppercorn rent of 5 shillings on the 1st of May.
Has a very fine Initial letter and the Seals of Thomas & Dorothy Osborne on vellum strips. Plus 2 blue attached embossed duty stamps for IV pence each and a William Cypher on the reverse.
