White Star Ex-Royal Mail Line of Packets-1858
Leaflet of the White Star Ex-Royal Mail Line of Packets sailing from Liverpool to Melbourne (Australia) in 1858. The leaflet gives deails of sailings, accommodation, food, prices etc.,
The Ben Nevis was one the first Colonial Clipper owned by John Pilkington and Henry Wilson's famous 'White Star Line' and was built in 1852/3.
In 1855 Pilkington & Wilson signed a contract with Earl Canning, The Post Master General for the Carriage of Mail to Australia.
The Clippers offered accommodation to passengers emigrating to Australia.
The first Licences for the Gold Diggers in Australia where issed in 1851.
We also have leaflets for 'The Gertrude' and 'The Chariot of Fame' all owned by the White Star Line.
