A London mahogany stick barometer. A mahogany case of good proportions with cistern cover to the base and brass bound. An ivorine scale with slide pressure adjuster. A brass thermometer guard. Circa 1850.
There are a number of West family instrument makers noted in Banfields' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book. This example dates to circa 1850.
