We are very pleased to offer another Walter Robin Jennings landscape oil on canvas. This painting depicts the River Worfe in Shropshire near Rindleford and has been entitled and signed by the artist on the back of the stretcher, signed on the canvas in the lower left hand corner and dated 1979. The painting depicts a tranquil, autumnal view of the river, with the reflections of the leafless trees forming patterns in the dappled waters as it winds its way beneath a high ridge. This area has been painted by the artist previously, as we have seen a painting of Rindleford Mill by him.

Walter Robin Jennings 1927-2005 was born in Dudley, Staffordshire and was an active artist throughout most of his working life. He was a landscape and animal painter, primarily in oil and exhibited widely. His work has been reproduced in card form by Medici, Royle and Solomon & Whitehead. He sadly died in Kiderminster in 2005.

There is one of his paintings in the National Collection and can be viewed at Dudley Museum.

The painting is framed in its original 2 3/4" gilt frame and linen slip and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
