Vintage Silver Plate Salver / Tray, c.1960s/70s

This is a smart and practical Vintage Silver Plate Salver or Tray. The salver is a scalloped oval shape standing on four moulded bracket feet. The flat base of the tray is decorated with a neo-classical design of scrolls, flowers, foliage, shells and a pineapple at each end.
The salver was made in Boston, Massachusetts by the Leonard Silver Manufacturing Company and dates to the late 1960s or 1970s. The firm was founded in Chelsea, Massachusetts by Leonard Florence in 1968. They moved to new premises in Boston and often collaborated with European manufacturers, particularly Italian ones from whom they would buy in glass elements and mount them in silver plate in the US. The company was bought out in 1978 and the name was later acquired by the International Silver Company.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The salver is of a good size, measuring 36.4cm / 14.3ins long by 28.2cm / 11.1ins wide and standing 4.3cm / 1.7ins high. It weighs 647g / 22.8oz.
The underside of the tray is stamped LEONARD and SILVER PLATE.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Evri (Hermes) Tracked & Signed Courier.
