A Gwenda foil & milk glass powder jar in superb condition. The foil lid is absolutely delightful! The most beautiful 'crinoline lady' stood on a gravel drive way. She is wearing a sumptuous off the shoulder cream gown. In her hand she is holding a wicker basket full of pink flowers with green foliage. Her hat is pale green & two red flowers complete this ensemble. The background foil is a subtle pink. The silhouette of the tree & immaculately manicured garden such a contrast to the green grass & foliage. Tiny pink & red flowers complete this enchanting scene. The underside of the powder jar lid is signed 'Gwenda MADE IN ENGLAND'. The powder jar lid & puff are present. The milk glass powder jar is super too. The powder bowl is gorgeous milk glass in lovely condition without damage on to which a neat fitting clean lid sits. The whole item is top notch and I am delighted to have this in my collection. The base of the milk glass powder bowl is marked " 29 A UCB "
An ideal & unusual tin wedding gift as in Britain foil was made from tin around this time.
This foil & milk glass powder bowl measures 8 cm wide X 1 1/8 " tall & weighs 129.9 grams.
