Victorian Stick Barometer, Lawson, Brighton
A Victorian stick barometer. An oak case with a moulded pediment and cavetto cornice moulding. A central mercury thermometer box. Double vernier scales to the main dial signed 'LAWSON & SON, OLD STREET, BRIGHTON'. Two scale adjusters below the dial and a circular moulded cover to the cistern.
Thomas Lawson & Son are recorded in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1870-1878 in Brighton.
