This antique serpentine front papier mache tea caddy is beautifully decorated with painted flowers, exotic birds and gilding. It stands on original shaped feet and the lid lifts to reveal twin lidded compartments. The condition is good, as shown in he photographs, there are a couple of small nibbles to the front corner, these are as can be expected on an item that has been in use for almost 150 years. The high quality of the decoration on this beautiful tea caddy is typical of the flamboyant taste of the Victorian period and would be a lovely item to display.
